Lehigh Carbon Community College

Students with a 3.0 GPA may enroll in Honors Sections or complete Honors Projects in their courses. Students in the College Honors program are required to complete five courses with Honors grades. Other students are welcome to complete Honors coursework as well.

Honors Projects

Honors Projects may be completed in almost any 3-5 credit college level class. Students work directly with the instructor for the course to develop an honors project. This project is completed in addition to the work required in the class. Past projects have included research papers, art work, science experiments, and more.

Please review the sample projects by following the links below.  Your proposal must include a description of your project, the process you will follow and a specific timeline of when you will meet with your mentor and turn your project in. Please see Guidelines and Application below.

Institutional Review Board Information

Students who are completing Honors Projects that involve collecting data from or about people must complete the IRB approval process.  Most projects can be approved under the expedited review process.  It is important that students discuss this process with their mentors and follow the guidelines.

 Beacon Competition

Students who complete an Honors Project may be eligible to enter the Beacon Competition.  Students should discuss this possibility with their faculty mentor.  More information on the competition can be found at http://www.beaconconference.org/
